Hi, I’m Liza, a Chartered (BPS) & Registered (HCPC) Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years experience of providing assessment & psychological therapy for adults with a variety of mental health difficulties & life issues. My approach is individualised for each client drawing on a variety of psychological theories & techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also supervise qualified & trainee psychologists.
As a published psychologist I have contributed articles in professional journals, books, media articles & interviews. With a PhD by research I am involved in psychology research & university lecturing, presenting regularly at conferences, keeping me up to date with the most recent developments in my field.
As someone who has lived with a heart condition from birth, dependent on pioneering medical treatment, I am actively involved in advocacy efforts to improve care successfully campaigning for National Healthcare Standards for this population.
Please note that due to the current COVID-19 pandemic I am only offering therapy & supervision online or by phone.
I contacted Liza to help me get through a particularly difficult period during lockdown to chat through a build up of family, work and business demands that I was struggling to get through. Over a few sessions Liza helped me understand my most immediate priorities and work through how I came to be in this position, with some coping techniques. I found speaking with Liza very helpful to get through the fog and focus on what was most important and how to deal with ‘devil on my shoulder’. We conducted our discussions remotely that for me worked perfectly well during the lockdown period.
